Updating Student, Instructor, Staff Information
Student Information
There are several ways to update information on a student’s record.
CIS - students can update their own information in CIS if they understand how to log in and know their uNID and password. This information includes:
Preferred name
Email
Phone number(s)
Mailing/Home address
Registration Process - When a student is contacting our UCL offices to update their information and/or to register for a class their contact information should be updated on the registration request. Student’s information will be updated in CIS once the registration has been processed.
If the student is already registered, but needs to update their name, preferred name, phone, email, or address UCL staff (Lifelong, Osher, ELI, Proed, and GoLearn) should:
Email to register@continue.utah.edu. Email should include
First and last name
uNID
New information
Youth staff should
Update ‘Guardian Information’ in the Intranet
Be sure to select send guardian information to desc team when complete.
Legal first or last name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, or Gender updates must be made with the Registrar’s Office.
Students will need to complete ‘Change of Personal Information’

Instructor/Staff Information
Contact information or preferred name should be updated directly in CIS by the instructor or staff member. They will be required to know their uNID and password. This information includes:
Preferred name
Phone number(s)
Email
Mailing/Home address
Legal name - If an instructor or staff member needs to update their legal name the will need to contact
Chris Whipple (CECE’s HR Analyst) and provide a copy of their new Social Security Card.
