UCL Wellness Options

UCL’s goal is to make sure all our employees are able to meet their individual needs and we encourage wellness breaks; however, this should be discussed on a case-by-case basis between employee and supervisor.

UCL has a channel called "Health and Wellness" found in the "University Connected Learning" Team on Microsoft Teams. In this channel, you can find info about group exercise options to walk through Research Park or around campus, run on the trails up behind Red Butte Gardens, or cycle with groups of co-workers up Emigration Canyon. The possibilities are endless!

This channel is a place where anyone can post information about health and wellness programs, readings, or tips to share.

Victim-Survivor Advocacy

Victim-Survivor Advocates provide free, confidential, and trauma-informed support services to students, faculty, and staff who have experienced interpersonal violence (i.e., domestic and dating violence, sexual assault and rape, sexual harassment, stalking, etc.)

We believe in empowering you to make informed decisions around your healing and justice. We will assist you in navigating any resources, processes, and/or services that feel relevant and helpful to you.

University Connected Learning (UCL) Annual Staff Awards

UCL is lucky to have stellar employees who go above and beyond in their work. In recognition of that work, we have created four categories of annual staff awards. In December staff will receive an email asking for nominations of co-workers for their contributions to UCL in the following categories.

  • Collaboration

  • Customer Service

  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

  • Innovation

Leadership reviews the nominations and determines the winner in each category, announcing the winners at the January Town Hall. The winners receive a $250 award and may select a gift card from Positively U or Amazon.

Employee Appreciation Day

Employee Relations is proud to co-sponsor and coordinate Employee Appreciation Day  (links to external website) (EAD), an annual celebration of University of Utah Staff and Faculty. Each year, staff and faculty members are invited to this event, complete with food, entertainment, exhibitors, and giveaways. Please contact us at 801-587-9861 if you would like more information or are interested in being an employee volunteer for the event.
